Gucci Mane-Breath of Fresh Air

By: Canton Minzell

Gucci Mane's upcoming album, Breath of Fresh Air, has the potential to be one of his most relatable projects yet. The rapper himself has revealed that he approached this album differently compared to his previous works. He was more intentional with the lyrical content this time around. The tragic killings of Young Dolph and Takeoff, and the arrests of his friends Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano, compelled him to take a detour in his rap style.

The project comprises of 24 tracks, with two verses from Dolph and collaborations with Lil Baby, Key Glock, J. Cole, 21 Savage, and other artists. Over the past few months, Gucci has released several singles that will now feature on the album, such as "Bluffin" - a duet with Lil Baby in which the latter boasts about "shroom sex" - "Pissy" - a track with Roddy Ricch and Nardo Wick - "King Snipe" with Kodak Black, and "06 Gucci" with DaBaby and 21 Savage. According to iTunes, the album will have two discs with a total of 24 songs.

In a recent interview with Apple Music (via The Fader), Gucci expressed his hope that his new music will have a positive vibe. He stated, "I feel like it's time for people to start hearing more from me as far as game and advice and my opinion on stuff. So I feel like now when I do a verse with somebody like Baby, who the kids look up to and listen to, I try to put some game on them instead of just rapping."
