In 2024, it appears to be the year of Megan Thee Stallion, although her fans would likely argue that every year belongs to her—and that's entirely valid. This year, she achieved international success with her hit single "Mamushi," performed at the MTV Video Music Awards, and hosted the event. Additionally, she released a new album earlier in the year and starred in a fun, brand-aligned advertisement for *Venom: The Last Dance*. Following all these accomplishments, she has even more music on the way. Her upcoming project, titled *MEGAN: ACT II*, will include new tracks, a remix, and freestyles she released earlier this year.
The second act of Megan’s performance kicks off powerfully with “Bigger In Texas,” an assertive anthem that showcases her unapologetic confidence and self-assuredness. The song celebrates her beauty and achievements, featuring bold lines like, “Ass sittin’ up like a horse’s, pretty like a portrait,” while also highlighting her financial independence.
In the second verse, she uses Texas as a metaphor for grandeur and authenticity, emphasizing her genuine nature. Her playful yet commanding tone shines through when she calls out superficiality, saying, “Bitch, don’t come around me tryna pass out drugs, I ain’t poppin’ no Teslas.”
Throughout the song, Megan skillfully blends humor with authority, comparing herself to sensual experiences and asserting total control over her career and image. To clarify, "MEGAN: ACT II" serves as both a sequel and a deluxe version of the original album. It includes all the hits you loved from the first release, but the new songs are particularly exciting to discuss.
"Number One Rule" features a menacing instrumental and a relentless flow from Megan, reminiscent of the style found in 8Ball & MJG's music, and she truly does the sound justice. "Bourbon" has a freestyle vibe, allowing the rapper to express herself in a laid-back manner.
The biggest surprise, however, is the penultimate track, "Like a Freak." In this song, Megan Thee Stallion raps over the Far East Movement's "Like a G6." It's an obvious sample that is sure to generate a lot of buzz on social media.
